Marina Volnova became a winner of the 11th World Boxing Cup of Petroleum Countries that ended on December 22, 2013 in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia. Bronze medals were won by Gulzhaina Ubbiniyazova and Azat Makhmetov.
Marina Volnova was also acknowledged as the best boxer of this international tournament dedicated to the memory of Farman Kurban-ogly Salmanov, the oil discoverer in Siberia and the Hero of the Socialist Labor.
Kazakhstan was represented by Azat Makhmetov (52 kg) and Madiyar Zhanuzak (56 kg) in the men’s program, and by Saniya Sultankyzy (51 kg), Gulzhaina Ubbiniyazova (60 kg), Aliya Abdraimova (64 kg), and Marina Volnova (75 kg) in the women’s program.
In total, 120 athletes from 14 countries took part in the World Boxing Cup of Petroleum Countries.
