According to his words Kazakhstan can displace the national team of Uzbekistan from the first roles in Asia.
The World champion-2013 Merey Akshalov in an interview has told about the competition among the national teams of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan and also has commented on return of Daniyar Yeleusinov in the national team.
- Merey, can you tell us about in what you are engaged now?
- At the moment I fulfill duties of the deputy head of educational and sports part of the state company "Tolagai". It is school of the highest sports skills which is engaged in training not of the Olympic sports.
- Do you have any plans to start a coach's career?
- Meanwhile I didn't consider such option. Sometimes I provide private boxing lessons. Though, you know, in this life anything can occur. I am trying to keep shape and I often punch balls not to forget the boxing.
- Daniyar Yeleusinov after the victory at the Olympic Games in Rio didn't box one and a half year. How will this effect on his career and will he be able to return on former level?
- Despite a break in career Danchik (Daniyar - editor's note) nevertheless is the most skilled boxer. When we speak about Yeleusinov, first of all, we mean the Olympic champion and an idol of young generations. Daniyar has already started trainings and I am sure that by the end of the year he will come to peak of the shape and he will appear in the best way what we remember him. Prerequisites to his good performance were visible at the recent tournament of three countries where, besides Kazakhstan, Russia and Uzbekistan also took part. Daniyar was not bad and his performance was pleasant.
- If you have mentioned the Olympic Games how you think Yeleusinov can be the first two-time Olympic champion from Kazakhstan?
- He has a good chance for that. He was out of boxing one and a half year and he had a rest. I think Yeleusinov will undertake this matter with special enthusiasm and will begin to storm tops with new eagerness. The main thing is not to burnout, to prepare well and not to look at opponents with underestimation. I am personally sure that once having tasted a victory on the main start of four years he will find a new key to success.
- In August of the current year in Indonesia Asian Games will take place. What can the national team of Kazakhstan get there?
- Everything will depend on the composition of the team. The national team needs to be formed according to readiness of our fighters. If such masters as Kairat Yeraliyev, the world champion, Vassili Levit, Kamshybek Kunkabayev, Aslanbek Shymbergenov or someone from couple Abylaikhan Zhusupov - Daniyar Yeleusinov will go there, so our national team will be able to win two-three gold medals at least and to try to become the first in an all-team competition, having replaced Uzbekistan.
