The Kazakhstan Boxing Federation has summed up the results in 2017 at the conference chaired by the president of federation Timur Kulibayev.
Executives of the National Olympic Committee and the Combat and strength sports confederation, representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Sport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, management of tourism, physical culture and sport of Astana have participated in the conference.
Last Sunday of October it is celebrated the 84th anniversary of the Day of the Kazakhstan boxing from the date of the establishment of the first Kazakhstan boxing organization. In honor of this date special established badges were awarded at the conference.
KBF Vice-president on general issues Daniyar Abulgazin, KBF Vice-president on coaching staff working Yuriy Tskhay, the state boxing coach of RK Bolat Abdrakhmanov, the head coach of the National Boxing Team of RK Myrzagali Aitzhanov, the state women's boxing coach of RK Kairat Manashev, the senior coach of the National Women Boxing Team of the RK Vadim Prisyazhnyuk and the sports historian Kasym Maulenov were awarded the badge "For Merits in Development of the Kazakhstan Boxing".
The honored coach of RK Boris Tskhvirashvili, the honored coach of the Kazakh SSR Raphael Vakhitov, the honored coach of the Kazakh SSR Andrey Raysh, the honored coach of RK Feliks Tsoi, the honored coach of RK Vladimir Shayrer and the honorary president of the Almaty region Boxing Federation Askar-Madikhan Saudanbekov were awarded the badge "Kazakhstan Boxing Veteran".
From April 30 to May 7 the Men's National Team has competed at the Asia Championships in Tashkent where they won one gold medal (Vasily Levit), three silver and three bronze medals. At the continental tournament our team got 9 quotes for the World Championships in Hamburg and then we received one more as one of athletes has refused participation in the World Championships and its place was taken by our boxer according to ranking in 49 kg weight category.
The V international Boxing Tournament Republic of Kazakhstan President's Cup has taken place in Astana from June 5 to June 10. For the first time men's and women's teams from 10 countries at the same time participated in it. The Kazakhstan team has won the first place with 12 gold medals.
From August 25 to September 2 athletes of the National Team have participated in the World Championships in Germany where they have won one gold medal by Kairat Yeraliyev, two silver and three bronze medals.
- In Hamburg our National Team preformed successfully and I would like to congratulate our athletes, coaching staff and our fans - the president of federation Timur Kulibayev told. - I note that there is a lot of youth in team who have shown good results. It means that in Kazakhstan we have a systematic work on training of young boxers. We have reserve boxers and leaders of our National Team serve as an example and the young athletes are getting better and showing modern international level boxing. Not for nothing, the Kazakhstan National Team is one of the leading countries in AIBA Family.
Due to the problems in management of the International boxing association Mr Kulibayev expressed a position of the Kazakhstan Boxing Federation:
- We will work with lawful governing bodies of AIBA. The court has confirmed that powers of the president Ching-Kuo Wu are valid and we will wait for the congress of the organization where new presidential elections will take place. At the congress we will discuss those problems which have collected in boxing.
The issue of training and sports education was the main at the conference. The Minister for Culture and Sports Arystanbek Mukhamediuly has reported that upon request of the president of the country new university will be builded in Astana which will prepare provide training for sport.
Timur Kulibayev has emphasized that it is necessary to create the full-fledged system of sports education which will allow athletes to be socially protected and after the ending of career.
- I talk to each akim about necessity of sport college in each. And then in the futute regional athletes could become coaches and train in the district, the region, school or organize sports section - the president of the Kazakhstan Boxing Federation has told. - I hope that the ministry at discussion of the plan for distribution of funds for sports in regions has considered offers on development of the education system. When we have a full-fledged system at level of regions, the sport academy in Almaty, the sport and physical culture university in Astana, then we will be able to raise new skilled workers.
