Today, October 31, Timur Kulibayev, AIBA Vice President and President of the Kazakhstan Boxing Federation, met with the athletes and coaches of the Kazakhstan National Boxing Team in Astana.
Mr. Kulibayev congratulated the members of the National Team on their splendid performance at the World Championships and noted that, having won 4 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals and the first place in the team rankings, the Kazakhstan team achieved such great results for the first time in its history of performance at World Championships. Then Mr. Kulibayev gave awards to the winners and medalists of the World Championships, coaches and members of the integrated research team.
The Federation President also congratulated all contributors to the organization of the World Championships on the successful holding of this event and noted that Dr. Ching-Kuo Wu, President of AIBA, and CEOs of this well-reputed international sport organization and international federations expressed a high opinion on the arrangement of the global tournament in Almaty.
Mr. Kulibayev emphasized that sports had been successfully developing in Kazakhstan thanks to the policies pursued by President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. State-of-the-art sports centers are being constructed all over the country, and physical infrastructure is being enhanced both in towns and villages. The sporting successes are also proved by the stable growth in the number of people going in for sports and by the achievements of Kazakhstan athletes in the sports world. The arrangement of the Winter Asian Games, various top-level world tournaments and the future World Winter University Games to be hosted by Kazakhstan in 2017 proves that Kazakhstan has become one of the world sports centers in Asia.
