The Kazakhstan club has introduced its newcomers who will fight for the Arlans in the World Series of Boxing.
22 Kazakhstan boxers joined Astana Arlans, the current champion of the World Series of Boxing, Vesti.kz correspondent reports.
Together with the boxers who remained with the club from the third season, the team’s lineup includes 35 athletes. On November 6, Bolat Mankenov, General Director of Astana Arlans, introduced the newcomers. So, the following boxers will fight for the Arlans in the fourth season:
49 kg: Anvar Muzaparov, Mardan Berikbayev, Azat Kamzin
52 kg: Miras Zhakupov, Olzhas Sattibayev, Aidyn Yelzhanov, Azat Makhmetov
56 kg: Bagdad Alimbekov, Meirbolat Toitov, Madi Sholakov, Didar Utelbayev, Nurbol Kalzhanov
60 kg: Samat Bashenov, Roman Shchegrinov, Zhandos Momunov, Nikolai Schwab
64 kg: Askhat Ualikhanov, Zhanibek Azhibai, Ruslan Madiyev
69 kg: Bakhytzhan Kozhabekov, Meyirim Nursultanov, Madiyar Ashkeyev, Suleiman Berdukayev
75 kg: Sergey Derevyanchenko (Ukraine), Yerik Alzhanov
81 kg: Hrvoje Sep (Croatia), Ehsan Rouzbahani (Iran), Danabek Suzhanov, Arman Rysbek
91 kg: Vasili Levit, Arbek Abduganiyev, Khamzat Geliskhanov
+91 kg: Ruslan Myrsatayev, Filip Hrgovic (Croatia), Armen Simonyan (Armenia)
According to Sergey Korchinsky, Chief Coach, his team will do its best to become the WSB record-breaker and win the tournament for the second time in a row – it would be for the first time in the series as no team had won twice so far. At the same time, the Chief Coach emphasized that it would be hard to defend the title. Also, Mr. Korchinsky expressed his feelings about the finals of the WSB Season 4 that would be hosted by Kiev:
“We are eager to meet with the Ukraine Otamans in the finals. But first we need to get to the finals so we’d better do not cook a hare before catching him. In our turn, we’ll do our best to get to Kiev ".
It should be mentioned that Bolat Zhumadilov, the well known Olympic winner, and Nurlan Akurpekov, an expert, joined the team’s coaching staff.
Please be reminded that the Astana Arlans club is the current champion of the World Series of Boxing. There will be 10 weight classes in the new season and the boxers from the Kazakhstan National Team will be able to compete for the Arlans. Sergey Korchinsky’s team will start defending its title on November 15 when it will meet with the Baku Fires of Azerbaijan at home.
