On March 11, the Kazakhstan Women’s Boxing Championships kicked off in Shchuchinsk, Akmola Oblast. The competitions take place at the T.A. Ualiyev Sports School. The national championships are attended by 88 female athletes.
The contesters include Marina Volnova, bronze medalist of the 30th Summer Olympics, 2012 and 2013 World Cup winner, Champion of Asia 2010, 2010 World Championships finalist; Saida Khasenova, 30th Olympics competitor, Champion of Asia 2010, 2010 Asian Games prizewinner; Yulduz Mamatkulova, 2012 World Championships finalist; Nazym Kyzaibai, bronze medalist of the 2012 World Championships; Lyazzat Kungeibayeva, bronze medalist of the 2012 Asian Championships; Firyuza Sharipova, bronze medalist of the 2012 Asian Championships; Dariga Shakimova, Champion of Asia 2010; and Zhaina Shekerbekova, Champion of Asia 2010, 2013 Feliks Stamm Memorial Tournament winner.
The finals of this 10th edition of the Kazakhstan Women’s Boxing Championships will take place on March 15. Based on the results of these national championships, a national team will be formed to embark on medal hunt at this year’s Asian Games and World Championships in South Korea.
