All five members of the National Boxing Team of Kazakhstan who participated in the 58th International Istvan Bocskai Memorial Boxing Tournament won medals. Three gold and two silver medals allowed Kazakhstan athletes to come second in the team scoring.
Adilet Kurmetov (52 kg), Yerzhan Ordabayev (56 kg), Aslanbek Shymbergenov (64 kg) won gold medals. In addition, Aslanbek Shymbergenov was acknowledged as the best boxer of the tournament. Yerzhan Zhomart (49 kg) and Nurdaulet Zharmanov (81 kg) won silver medals.
It should be noted that it was only the Hungarian team represented by 30 athletes that managed to outplay the Kazakhstan boxers in the team scoring. The Russians who had performed in all 10 weight classes were the third.
In total, 108 athletes from 20 countries participated in this representative tournament hosted by Hungarian Debrecen on February 5-8, 2014.
