At the Youth Asian Championships our boxers have taken the 1st all teams place.
Senior coach of the Youth Women National Team Almaz Kuatbekov in the interview to the official website of Kazakhstan Boxing Federation talked about performance of our boxers at the Asian Championships and told us that he was satisfied with organizational level of competitions.
- At the beginning of May the Youth Asian Championships was done. In Thailand our girls have won 4 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals. Are you satisfied with such result?
- Yes, of course. We worked really hard and knew there would be a strong competition in all divisions. We have been analyzing out main opponent – India who always successfully participate in the international tournaments. And we have seen it there. We could get 4 gold medals but they got 3. Our girls did their best and showed a great result. We appreciate them very much.
- For many years Thailand has been hosting such events. They surprised you by anything?
- The tournament was successful. They welcomed us very good. It was the first tournament which was held along with Men’s Team. And out boys were great and they won 6 gold medals. Great results!
- So our Men’s and Women’s Teams have a good reserve?
- Yes they have. Our boxers win a lot of medals at different international tournaments. Women’s boxing is also developed in proper way. I think if my boxers work hard they will be able to enter into the National Team. The main thing is to work hard.
- Our boxers have got 10 quotas for the World Championships which will be held in Hungary. What do you expect from this tournament?
- We will try to get as many medals as we can. And our girls Zhansaya Abdraimova (51), Mariya Gladkova (60), Guzal Sadykova (81) and Dina Islambekova (81) have got quotas for the Youth Olympic Games in Argentina. Only Mariya has won the bronze medal and other girls have got gold medals.
- Did you like the performance of our boxers?
- I liked the boxing of Zhansaya Abdraimova. Yerkezhan Dauletzhankyzy and Maiya Beisebayeva were great. They are all so young but they could show their best skills and achieve medals.
