The World Boxing Champion in 54 kg weight category Dina Zholaman is going to make our country happy with her victories again. This time at the Asian Championships which will be held at the beginning of November in Ho Chi Minh (Vietnam).
In an interview to the official web-site of the Kazakhstan Boxing Federation Dina tells about the course of preparation for the continental tournament and she has described potential competitors.
- Dina, how are you feeling? How is the preparation?
- Thank you, everything goes well. We have a fighting spirit. We want to make our country happy with a big number of medals at the Asian Championships.
- The start of the tournament is closer, trainings are getting harder?
- Yes, they are but I consider that it is justified. Through the overcoming yourself we go towards the new aim. In general, this is my favorite thing. Of course any kind of sport is difficult and it demands enormous human efforts. We have chosen this way and have to give all the best as much as possible to win.
- The status of the world champion gives a confidence or psychological pressure?
- It is up to situation. Sometimes it helps. Sometimes I have a thought that it is necessary to win not to fall people and not to lose their trust. Now I am sure of myself. I am the world champion and I want to prove the leadership on the continent!
- What will you tell about functional preparation?
- I think we are ready very well. We had a productive camp in mountains of Almaty region. Trainings were pleasant. The camp went on smoothly and helped to gain optimum conditions.
- What competitors at the Asian Championships do you pay a special attention to?
- Taipei team has a good athlete. There is a strong boxer from China who I met in the semi-final at the World Championships. Girls from India always fight with character. It is to be honestly there will not easy fights at the tournament. All athletes are strong therefore everyone deserves a special mention.
- Will you have any innovations in your technical arsenal?
- Of course we are growing and we don't stand still. After the World Championships we became even better. As for tactics it is rather to coaches. They choose the plan for a concrete fight.
