International Elite Boxing Tournament Republic of Kazakhstan President's Cup starts on June 5. The main battles will be between Asian boxers due to the fact that dates of the European Continental Championships coincides with this tournament.
The day before Uzbekistan Boxing Federation announced a list of the National Team. Tursunay Rakhimova (52 kg), Edgoroi Mirzayeva (60 kg) and Nafisa Askarova (75 kg) will be presented in three Olympic women weight categories.
Elite men team consists from 10 athletes. 7 of them are fighters of Uzbek Tigers club: Nadir Mirzakhmedov (49 kg), Abror Kadyrov (52 kg), the champion of the tournament in Halle 2015, Abdulkhay Sharakhmatov (56 kg) who had a fight with Ilyas Suleimenov in WSB, Ulugbek Komilov (64 kg), Fazliddin Meliboyev, the bronze prize-winner of Asia 2014 (69 kg), Makhmud Gaipov (75 kg) who lost in the bout with Tursynbay Kulakhmet in the quarterfinal of the Islamic Games 2017 and the world junoir champion 2009 Mirzobek Khasanov. Also Uzbekistan will be presented by the silver prize-winner of the Junior Olympic Games 2014 Sulaimon Latipov (60 kg), Kozim Mardanov (81 kg) and Rustam Ismailov (+91).
The following countries confirmed their participation in the International Elite Boxing Tournament Republic of Kazakhstan President's Cup: Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Korea, India, Russia, Philippines, Ukraine, Mongolia and Iran. As a host-country of this tournament Kazakhstan will be presented by several teams. Competitions will start on June 5 in the Daulet capital sports complex and the final bouts will be on June 10.
