69 athletes from Kazakhstan, Russia and Ukraine took part at the International Women Boxing Tournament "CIS Сountries Cup" which was held in Schuchinsk, Kazakhstan.
The Cup was held for the first time and AIBA calendar doesn't include it yet. It is expected that next year this tournament will be included in the official plan of the International Boxing Association and it will become high-status tournament. Next time organize committee expect more boxers and countries including athletes from Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. This year Kazakhstan boxers successfull competed; Alina Turlybayeva (48 kg) took a gold medal, in the 51 kg weight category Ukrainian Tatyana Kob battled with Nazym Kyzaybay in the final and got the first place, our World Champion Dina Zholaman was a winner in the 54 kg weight category. In the 69 kg weight category Zura Kusainova won the gold medal, the first place in 75 kg weight category went to the prize-winner of the Olympic Games in Rio Dariga Shakimova. Also Moldir Bazarbayeva (81 kg) and Lyazzat Kungeibayeva (+81 kg) were celebrating their wins.
- This tournament was a good opportunity to look at our actions and see where we have mistakes in order to keep doing our work - senior coach of the Women's National Team Vadim Prisyazhnyuk said. – Nowadays our athletes show the middle level of performance. All of them should prepare for the National Kazakhstan Championships which will take place at the beginning of May in Astana. Perhaps, following the results of the Championships we will update the National Team to thirty percent.
