Daniyar Eleusinov: “Leaders of the national team must help “Astana Arlans”.

Twice AIBA World Best Boxer and the leader of the national team Daniyar Eleusinov prepares to get in the ring again in colors of “the Astana Arlans” club. The boxer himself shares in the interview with the “Kursiv” newspaper the recent news on how the club team prepares to the WSB project and the Qatar World Championship.
- Daniyar, what motivates you to participate in the WSB series?
- My motivation is that we will defend colors of the Kazakhstan club. We see that many teams are strengthened by the number one fighters. The examples of Azerbaijan and Cuba teams demonstrate that it brings results. The Arlans team consists of many experienced and good boxers, and our team always places high. But I believe that we as number ones of the national boxing team have no other way than help our club, we should strengthen “Astana Arlans”. I am glad that our boxers have successfully started this season of WSB series and have won in all undergone fights. Currently I actively prepare for the WSB project in particular, as the format of boxing there differs from the Olympic one.
- But you plan to get the Olympic quota place in Rio in the World Championship, don’t you?
- Yes. We set great tasks in Qatar. Kazakhstan Boxing School was always one of the best. We have to prove the high status of the Kazakhstan boxing, especially after the World Championship in Almaty and Asian Games. Also we would like to get as more Olympic quota places as possible. I can say that the whole team prepares seriously.
- What is your goal for this year?
-I’d like to become the two times World Champion, and certainly to win the quota place for the Olympiada 2016. There is also the Asian Championship. This year will be eventful, and hopefully successful. I have no time for relaxing since the Olympic Games, the main starts of all sportsmen, are ahead.
- Daniyar, you have been acknowledged to be the best boxer more than once, recently together with other sportsmen you have been acknowledged in the Ministry of Culture and Sport of the RoK. What does it mean for you?
- It is a great honour for me to be represented among the best sportsmen of the country, thanks again to our Ministry. All these awards have been received only as a result of daily hard work and assistance of my coaches. Each victory is a hard labour of the whole team that is why I always tell about it.
- It is not a secret that the Kazakhstan boxing in recent years has significantly progressed. What changes do you see in the development of the sport #1 in our country?
- Apparently, not only me, but all of us – team, coaches, fans and even our friends and competitors from other countries see what value is attached to boxing in Kazakhstan. And to the sport in general. We all know how Elbasy Nursultan Abishevich supports sportsmen, what focus he puts on the sport. And it is better each year. Boxing is supported and develops steadily. We are provided the best conditions for training, for several years we are attended by other national teams wishing to train here. Not every country has such opportunities. The World Boxing Academy has been built up. Of course, on behalf of the whole team I would like to thank also the President of the Federation and Confederation, Timur Askarovich Kulibayev, and sponsors – Samruk-Kazyna Fund and KazMunaiGas company, which give impulse to the development of boxing in Kazakhstan. We will do our best to satisfy all expectations and prove to be well-deserved representatives of our country in the world.
