WSB is an AIBA project marking a new era in the world of boxing. It is the first professional series in which boxers retain the right to participate in the Olympic Games. In January 2010, the Kazakhstan Boxing Federation signed an agreement to participate in the WSB project. In April 2010, the professional sports club "Astana Arlans" was established. In July 2010, the Astana Arlans team was granted the status of the national professional boxing team of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the WSB version. In the finals, Astana Arlans lost to "Paris United" in the second leg of the WSB final with a score of 1:4, taking second place in the debut season of the WSB championship. Kanat Abutalipov became the first individual WSB champion and earned the first qualification spot for the 2012 Olympic Games in London. In 2013, the Astana Arlans team became the champions of the third season of the WSB.
