In Ho Chi Minh (Vietnam) from November 2 to 8, 2017 the Asian Women Boxing Championships was held.
10 representatives of Kazakhstan have taken part in it (in all weight categories). Vadim Prisyazhnyuk and his boxers have won one gold, one silver and four bronze medals at the tournament.
Only Madina Nurshayeva in 64 kg weight category became the champion from Kazakhstan. In the final she has won against Dou Dang from China. This medal is the first one in Nurshayeva's career at the continental tournament.
Valentina Khalzova has got the silver medal (69 kg). The acting world champion lost the bout other Chinese boxer Gu Hong.
Bronze medals belong to the two-time world champion Nazym Kyzaybay (51 kg), the bronze prize-winner of the Olympic Games in Rio Dariga Shakimova (75 kg), the prize-winner of the Asian Championships 2015 Moldir Bazarbayeva (81 kg) and also world champion Lyazzat Kungeybayeva (+81 kg).
