The Golden Girl Championships is one of the biggest women competition in the world and in the new edition 254 boxers from 22 nations attended in the competition in Boras, Sweden including Kazakhstan. The Kazakh youth boxers claimed two while their juniors one further gold medal in the Golden Girl Championships in Sweden.
The gold medallist of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games Mr. Yermakhan Ibraimov also attended in the event and visited the performance of the young Kazakh girls in Boras. It was the very first time when Kazakhstan competed in the Golden Girl Championships where their delegation finally achieved 3 gold, 2 silver and 6 bronze medals.
Their first gold medal was achieved by Eldana Talipova at the junior light heavyweight (80kg) in Boras where the 15-year-old talent was enough strong to beat Ireland's Lauren Ryan still in the opening round after her heavy shots. The referee confirmed her RSC success after 90 seconds of fight and Talipova proved her talent in the international competition.
Kazakhstan's current AIBA Women's Junior World Champion 16-year-old Nadezhda Ryabets had three difficult contests in the youth welterweight (69kg) in Boras but her condition and tactical skills were enough to beat all of her rivals in the Swedish international tournament. In the final of the category she defeated Canada's Charlie Cavanaugh winning the bout by unanimous decision.
Kazakhstan's third gold medal was delivered by Almaty region's Junior National Champion Guzalya Sadykova who had to meet in the final with her teammate Saltanat Yestayeva in the final of the youth middleweight (75kg). Sadykova was also born in 2000 as Ryabets and aiming for a place in the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games.
