Three Kazakhstan Athletes to Fight in the World Junior Boxing Championship Finals

Today, September 15, three Kazakhstan athletes – Ablaikhan Zhusupov, Rakhat Marzhikpayev, and Kadyrbek Sadykov – will continue fighting for the champion titles in the finals of the World Junior Boxing Championship taking place in Kiev, Ukraine.

Yesterday, the semi-final bouts that ended at night by Astana time delivered the following results: Ablaikhan Zhusupov defeated the Turkish athlete Onur Arslan (3:0) in the 57 kg weight category; Rakhat Marzhikpayev overwhelmed Eldar Marzhanov of Uzbekistan (3:0) in the 66 kg weight category; and Kadyrbek Sadykov prevailed over Russia’s Vladimir Kharchenko (2:1) in the 70 kg weight category.
 
Five Kazakhstan boxers – Alimzhan Beskempir (46 kg), Serik Temirzhanov (48 kg), Stojan Mazur (50 kg), Baurzhan Temirkhan (52 kg), and Dmitry Zisko (+80 kg) – became bronze medalists of the global junior competition.
