The Kazakhstan boxers’ victory over the Russian team with a 7:3 score wound up the match encounter of national teams of four countries in Astana today.
The Kazakhstan boxers Birzhan Zhakypov (49 kg), Kairat Yeraliyev (56 kg), and Zakir Safiullin (60 kg) confidently dominated their bouts against the Russians having scored 3:0 victories. Sagadat Rakhmankulov (69 kg), Dauren Yeleussinov (81 kg), and Anton Pinchuk (91 kg) won their fights with a 2:1 score. Nurzhan Bekzatov was given the victory due to the non-appearance of an opponent as the Russian coaches presented no participant in the 91+ kg weight class.
In the afternoon session of the closing competition day, Uzbekistan’s representatives prevailed over the UK team with an 8:2 score.
Thus, the Kazakhstan team has won all three matches. The Uzbek team has two victories to their credit, the Russians account for one, and the UK boxers lost in all the matches.
