The Kazakhstan Boxing Federation is acknowledged as the Best Sports Federation of Kazakhstan following the results of the last year. Executive Director of KBF Mr Bekzhan Bektenov was awarded by Mr Arystanbek Mukhamediuly at the extended board meeting of the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
Previously the Kazakhstan Boxing Federation got this reward according to the International Boxing Association and Asian Boxing Confederation versions. Thus, the federation celebrates threefold success: the Best in the world, the Best on the continent and the Best in Kazakhstan.
Summing up results of the last year the Minister of Culture and Sports Mr Arystanbek Mukhamediuly noted the outstanding progress of our athletes at the Olympic Games in Rio. Boxers won gold, two silver and two bronze medals and took the fourth place in all teams’ classification. Mukhamediuly said that one of the main priorities in sports is a financing reform. The draft law initiated by National Olympic Committee provides government financing on sports depending on real progress and perspectives. It will be launched the special evaluation system which considers everything including Olympic medals and number of children who are training in sports schools. Until now the financing system was not so transparent and it depended on preferences of officials who distributed funds. The draft bill providing reform is considered in Mazhilis now.
